YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Oversee full dealership operations across sales, service, parts, F&I, and BDC to ensure efficient, profitable performance.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and monthly financial statements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase new, used and fleet sales.
  • Analyze market trends and adjust operational plans to maintain competitiveness.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and evaluate all department managers, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training, ensuring high standards of conduct and capability across all teams.
  • Promote positive employee relations and maintain high morale across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, provincial regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by addressing escalated issues promptly and maintaining a customer‑centric culture.
  • Guide and support department managers to meet sales, service, and retention goals.
  • Maintain dealership reputation and brand standards through high‑quality service delivery.
  • Create and manage annual business plans, KPIs, and operational goals aligned with ownership directives.
  • Work collaboratively across the multi‑store group to share best practices and participate in leadership meetings.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with manufacturers, lenders, vendors, and community partners.
  • Oversee compliance with dealership processes, financial controls, and operational standards to ensure smooth daily functioning.
  • Review and optimize departmental workflows to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, record‑keeping, and regulatory adherence across departments.
  • Collaborate with the outgoing GM during an extended transition period and leverage internal guidance from key leaders.
  • Support the cultural shift toward stronger structure, responsibility, and performance discipline.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the dealership’s suppliers specifically the OEM’s representatives.
  • Experience in all aspects of a key brand Dealer Management Systems
  • Marketing & Advertising skills specifically with social media


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proven leadership experience within an automotive dealership, ideally as a General Manager or Assistant GM, with the ability to oversee all dealership departments effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of dealership operations including new/used sales, service, parts, and F&I, with particular strength in used‑vehicle and truck market performance.
  • Ability to drive operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve performance across departments in a high‑volume dealership environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve escalated customer concerns and maintain strong relationships with OEM partners, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate fast‑paced automotive market dynamics, labour challenges, and operational complexities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in managing sensitive business and personnel information.
  • Business or management education is an asset, though equivalent dealership experience is strongly valued.
