Ontario Waterway Cruises Inc. is a family-owned tourism business offering multi-day cruise experiences through Ontario’s waterways. Operating as a “floating resort,” the company delivers high-quality hospitality experiences to a loyal and predominantly mature clientele. Ontario Waterway Cruises is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and support the continued success of the business. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a close-knit, dynamic team environment.


The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations across administration, logistics, and marketing, ensuring smooth and consistent delivery of our core product a 5-day cruise experience.

This role requires a highly adaptable leader who can manage recurring operational cycles while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency and customer experience.


YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Oversee daily office operations, including reservations, ticketing, and internal coordination
  • Manage payroll processes and employee-related administration
  • Maintain financial records and ensure accounts remain current
  • Coordinate logistics related to cruise operations (e.g., transportation, scheduling, deliveries)
  • Support customer service operations by addressing escalated inquiries and concerns as needed
  • Ensure timely communication of itinerary updates or operational changes
  • Maintain and update the company website and customer database systems
  • Coordinate ongoing marketing initiatives, including brochures and digital outreach
  • Manage key annual operational activities (e.g., brochure production, bus bookings, year-end financial preparation, seasonal recruitment)
  • Coordinate servicing and maintenance of company vehicles and operational assets
  • Liaise with vendors and external partners
  • Provide oversight of IT systems and office technology
  • Identify and implement process improvements to support operational efficiency
  • Partner closely with ownership in a hands-on leadership capacity


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Progressive experience in operations, hospitality, tourism, or a related environment (e.g., resort, seasonal business)
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Strong customer service experience and ability to manage complex or sensitive situations
  • Experience overseeing administrative functions such as payroll, scheduling, or financial tracking
  • Exposure to marketing coordination, digital platforms, or customer database systems
  • Experience working in seasonal or variable-demand environments is considered an asset
  • Basic mechanical aptitude required (marine experience considered an asset, not required)
