Murray Family Farms Ltd. is a commercial bulk commodity farm enterprise located in southwestern Saskatchewan (near Tompkins, SK), owned and operated by Jason and Tammy Murray. The Farm Labourer assists with various tasks involved in the production and maintenance of grain crops. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Farm Laborer will work independently and in a team under the supervision of farm management and experienced operators to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with seeding, spraying, and harvesting grain crops.
- Help with the operation and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning equipment before and after use.
- Help maintain accurate records of daily activities and field conditions as directed by supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with other farm staff to achieve production goals and complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform general farm maintenance tasks, including cleaning facilities, and maintaining farm buildings.
- Assist with loading and unloading grain, seeds, fertilizers, and other supplies.
- Provide general help to support farm activities including yard work and running errands, such as picking up tools and parts.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position and as assigned by the farm management team.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of farm operations and machinery is an asset.
- Good listening and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical labour and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
- Ability to work long hours, especially during peak seasons.
- Previous experience in farm work is preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full-time position with seasonal variations in workload.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- May require long hours during peak seasons (seeding and harvest).
