Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee cross-functional teams and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the President, The General Manager serves as the key operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's daily activities. This role ensures that various departments work cohesively to achieve organizational goals, maintain high standards of quality, and drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring all fabrication and installation projects are managed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that optimize productivity, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction across projects of varying scale and complexity.
- Establish a culture of accountability across all departments.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
- Manage and motivate staff to foster a culture of accountability, ownership and clarity of roles and responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive growth and expand the company’s client base.
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control processes for all fabrication, installation, and repair work.
- Champion workplace health and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Review financial reports, analyze project profitability, and communicate key metrics to executive leadership.
- Oversee procurement and inventory management to support efficient manufacturing and installation operations.
- Align operations with long-term business strategies, set operational goals, and guide the company’s vision and growth trajectory.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and fabrication methods to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent the company at industry events, building partnerships and promoting brand recognition.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication, and/or metal building fabrication.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams, including direct oversight of senior managers (e.g., Sales, Engineering, Plant, Purchasing, Quality, HR, Safety).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop staff at all levels.
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written, with experience presenting to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Experience leading a cross-functional team
- Demonstrated capability to effectively coach and mentor both existing and emerging leaders.
- Skilled decision-maker with advanced planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer aptitude, including proficiency with office productivity software and relevant industry applications.
